Sparring Capital announces the disposal of Weetec to Ortec Group
Weetec is a major player in electrical and climate engineering market in Île-de-France.
Founded in 1981, Weetec Group (formerly Cesacap) serves a diverse clientele through its seven specialized subsidiaries (tertiary buildings, social housing, new housing developers…), offering rehabilitation, new construction, maintenance and minor works in electrical and climate engineering.
Since Sparring Capital acquisition of a majority stake in 2019, and under the leadership of Franck Petit, followed by Laurent Bellot who took over general management of the group in September 2022, Weetec’s revenue has grown from €50 million in 2018 to over €85 million in 2024. Beyond organic growth, the acquisitions of Softair (climate engineering – July 2019), Egelec (social housing – February 2020), and SNEA (climate engineering – July 2023) have accelerated the group’s development. Weetec is today one of the leaders in electrical and climate engineering in Île-de-France, ideally positioned to capture the growing demand for energy-efficient building renovations.
Weetec Group and its specialized subsidiaries will join the Energy Division of Ortec Group, an engineering and construction services company, which will provide long-term strategic support while preserving the entrepreneurial DNA that has driven Weetec’s success.
Johann Le Duigou, Managing Partner at Sparring Capital, said: “ We were thrilled to accompany Weetec since 2019, supporting its expansion and diversification in high-growth potential businesses. Congratulations to the teams for the tremendous progress and hard work. We are proud to have been part of this great success alongside them. “
Laurent Bellot, President of Weetec, added: ” In recent years, the group has experienced significant growth thanks to the high level of expertise and commitment of its teams. These developments have created a regional leader in electrical and climate engineering, well-positioned in promising markets. Joining forces with Ortec Group opens up many development opportunities that will benefit both Weetec’s teams and its broader network of partners. “
